The Surat Airport Action Committee has formally requested the Central Government to change the name of Surat Airport to "Shri Narendra Modi International Airport Surat." The proposal comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Surat for the inauguration of the airport terminal on December 17. The committee aims to honor the Prime Minister by renaming the airport after him.
