The City Primary Education Committee of the Surat Municipal Corporation convened a general meeting to discuss a budget of Rs 920.66 crore. During the session, Rakesh Hirpara, the leader of the anti-budget party, proposed various measures, including providing menstrual hygiene training and free sanitary pads to girls, increasing school-cleaning grants, installing CCTV cameras in all schools, and ensuring teachers receive their grade pay, higher salary scale, and pending arrears promptly.
