Criminals, formerly involved in pilfering cooking gas, have shifted their focus to directly stealing gas from capsule tankers. The Jarod Police recently uncovered an illicit gas refilling operation involving the transfer of gas from HPCL company's capsule tankers to commercial gas cylinders. Four suspects were apprehended in the act, caught red-handed filling commercial containers from a gas mafia tanker in an open area near Bhaniyara village, close to a crematorium. The police confiscated goods worth 5.78 lakhs and took legal action against the offenders.
