Street vendors in Surat have initiated a distinctive protest against the Surat Municipal Corporation's stringent actions targeting vendors selling goods from trucks on the roads. The vendors, particularly those selling food, gathered at Pal RTO to raise their voices against what they perceive as unjust policies. They argued that, according to Supreme Court rules, the municipality must provide an alternative location before restricting trade, and forcefully removing them without such provisions amounts to begging on public roads.
