The Surat Municipal Corporation marked the 172nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with a commemorative event. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Chairman, and various corporators and office bearers. They paid homage to Swami Vivekananda by offering garlands on his statue during the celebration of his birth anniversary.
