In a significant operation spanning one and a half months, the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) in Mumbai, in collaboration with the Gujarat and Maharashtra Forest Departments, along with the Gujarat Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA), successfully rescued numerous wild animals in Gujarat and Maharashtra. The joint effort led to the arrest of 28 individuals involved in poaching and wildlife harassment. The seized items included parrots, turtles, owls, porcupines, and a leopard skin. The accused have been denied bail and are now in custody.
