Surat Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shalini Agarwal presented a robust draft budget of Rs. 8721 crores for the fiscal year 2024-25. Following Surat's distinction as the top city in cleanliness, over Rs. 4,000 crores are allocated for the city's development. Notably, this marks the first time the corporation's revenue is expected to surpass Rs. 5000 crores. The citizens can breathe a sigh of relief as there is no increase in the tax burden, and a record-breaking 81 percent of capital funds have been utilized in the current financial year.
