Surat police have amassed fines totaling Rs 12 crore through the deployment of speed guns, aimed at curbing traffic violations. Since March 2023, officers stationed at 32 locations in the city have booked 10,274 cases of overspeeding, penalizing 60,401 drivers. Notably, this initiative has purportedly led to a decline in accidents, although authorities acknowledge ongoing efforts are required to enhance traffic management.
