Heavy rainfall in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh has caused significant inflows into the Ukai Dam and Tapi River. Currently, the Ukai Dam is releasing 1,57,166 cusecs of water out of a total inflow of 4,92,104 cusecs. Due to this, Surat's Weir-Cum-Causeway is also experiencing overflow, prompting authorities to impose restrictions and close the causeway for public safety. Notably, the rainfall in Surat has alleviated the water situation in the city.
