“My muslim brothers are been misguided as far as CAA is concerned” says Shah

The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is set to be enforced nationwide before the Lok Sabha elections, according to a declaration by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Bharatiya Janata Party is actively gearing up for the elections. Shah clarified that the CAA does not revoke anyone's citizenship, aiming to dispel concerns among Muslim communities who have been misled about the act. The legislation also includes provisions for granting citizenship to religious minorities from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Protests against the CAA, particularly in Surat and Jhangipur, have resulted in opposition from farmers concerned about potential water shortages due to canal construction.
