The release of water from the Ukai Dam led to severe flooding in the Fulwadi area, particularly in the Ved Road vicinity. This inundation caused great inconvenience to residents as the roads flooded with contaminated sewer water. Despite grand promises of dewatering pumps by the municipal authorities, they proved ineffective. Notably, the closure of the flood gates on the Tapi River caused sewage water to surge back onto the road. In the absence of organized dewatering efforts by the municipality, predicting when the water will subside remains challenging.
