A significant amount of suspected counterfeit chili powder was confiscated from the Hathikhana market. In a collaborative effort, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Municipal Health Branch conducted a joint raid on the elephant farm, resulting in the seizure of 200 kg of duplicate chili powder. The businessman in question claimed ignorance about the illicit substance. Notably, suspicions were aroused when chili and coriander powder sourced from Madhupura in Ahmedabad were brought in, with the alleged sale of chili powder at 120 rupees per kg. Acting on this information, the SOG, in conjunction with the health branch, took decisive action.
