Several leaders, including cooperative and farmer leader Darshan Nayak and South Gujarat Farmers Samaj president Ramesh Patel, were detained by the police in Delad Patia, Olpad taluka, Surat district. They were apprehended moments before farmers could peacefully protest in support of the "Bharat Bandh" call for various demands.
