The torture of rickshaw drivers is on the rise in Ahmedabad city, prompting strict action from the traffic department following numerous complaints. In a single day, the traffic police impounded 148 rickshaws from the eastern area, signaling an ongoing crackdown on drivers violating traffic regulations. The impoundments were made under the Motor Vehicles Act due to various infractions including modified rickshaws, defective number plates, stunt driving, and operating without a license.
