The BRTS route's swing gates in Surat city, entrusted to Technocat Security System Pvt., have become dysfunctional due to inadequate upkeep. Initially awarded a three-phase, five-year maintenance contract to install 276 swing gates, the company has only repaired 55 and subsequently ceased operations. Prompted by municipal intervention, there are plans to annul the swing gate operation maintenance monopoly. The neglected gates have led to numerous accidents, highlighting the urgency for restoration.
