Yesterday afternoon, on Katargam Ashram Road in Surat, four diamond firm employees were ambushed by an unknown person posing as an Income Tax officer. After withdrawing Rs.8 crore, the imposter entered their car, dropped two employees, and kidnapped the driver at gunpoint. The police are treating the incident as suspicious. The robbers' car was recovered in Surat, empty of cash, and from an area without CCTV coverage during the preliminary investigation.
