A major demand has been put forth by Social activist Atul Dave, where a demand has been put out, to cancel the lease agreement on the Jagannath temple trust land. This contentious land, initially leased to the Gaushala Seva Trust by AMC in 1992, was later resold to a builder for a mere eight crores, despite its estimated value being around 800 crores. This sale has raised questions and concerns about the land's rightful ownership. It's essential to note that this land dispute is distinct from the previous controversy in Behrampura, where land occupied by Muslims was sought by the temple in a separate dispute.
