The heroic act of a policeman saved the life of Deepika Ben Patel, who jumped into a well in protest against the acquisition of her family's land for an IOCL plant near Vadodara city. Deepika Ben's husband's land was acquired by the government for the plant, prompting her desperate protest. When revenue officials ignored their pleas, Deepika Ben leaped into the well. Head Constable Rajesh, witnessing her plight, immediately jumped in and rescued her. Deepika Ben received treatment for minor injuries, and Rajesh was honored for his bravery and recommended for a promotion.
