In a shocking revelation, the Deputy Sarpanch of Patan village in Mandvi, Surat district, and Congress member Shankar Chaudhary of Salaiya Betha Taluka Panchayat were apprehended accepting bribes. They demanded hefty sums to pass a resolution in the Gram Panchayat for land leveling, ultimately settling for 80 thousand rupees. The Tapi ACB caught them red-handed near Aagreshwar Mahadev Temple, initiating legal action against them for taking a bribe of 35 thousand rupees.
