In readiness for the upcoming elections in Surat city and district areas, the District Election Officer, Dr. Saurabh Parghi, chaired a session to allot Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) devices. A total of 23,000 EVMs, accompanied by VVPAT machines, were distributed across 16 assembly constituencies. The machines are now securely stored in strong rooms under police supervision.
