Government Unveils Robust Action Plan to Tackle Stray Cattle Menace
The state government has presented an action plan in response to the High Court's call for stricter implementation of the animal control policy. The plan includes daily operations to capture stray animals, legal consequences for those abandoning animals, and a ban on the sale of fodder on public roads. It also mandates the construction of cowshed-cages and the provision of resources for animal transport, with two corporation officers overseeing the stray animal issue. To date, over 1.40 lakh stray animals have been apprehended.
