Spike in Viral Illnesses Amid Seasonal Changes
Over 22 days, the city has seen a surge in viral illnesses, with 270 reported cases of dengue, averaging 13 daily. Waterborne epidemics include 274 typhoid cases. This year, 2,164 dengue cases were recorded, with 445 in the East Zone. Mosquito-borne epidemics involve 47 malaria cases, 9 toxic malaria, and 7 chikungunya. Waterborne epidemics have seen 233 cases of diarrhoea-vomiting, 101 jaundice cases, 274 typhoid cases, and 7 cholera cases.
