In an endeavor to control encroachments and maintain urban order in Ahmedabad, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has implemented an encroachment control policy since September 1. Over the last 55 days, a total of 24 incidents of assault have occurred against the teams from the CNCD department of the Municipal Corporation, which is tasked with capturing encroached areas. These incidents involved assailants wielding weapons who resorted to violent measures in their attempts to evade capture, posing significant challenges for the police. In previous instances, this ongoing confrontation has led to the most intense clashes.
