In a crackdown on illegal activities, the police have confiscated a staggering quantity of liquor and beer in Varanama since 2022, totaling 78,993 bottles and tins of beer, as well as 48,225 bottles of liquor and 8,297 tins of beer from 69 different cases. These illicit goods, valued at more than one and a half crores, were disposed of in a secluded private facility on the outskirts of Baman village in Karjan taluka. The disposal process involved the incineration of empty plastic bottles and cardboard boxes.
