The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched across the country on October 2, 2014, by the Modi government. However, there is still a lack of awareness among the people. Citizens are still throwing garbage and littering in public. The Municipal Corporation has collected a total fine of 3.24 lakhs in a single day. A total of 18 squads are keeping vigil against litterers. Also, fines are being imposed on those who stock the quantity of banned plastic.
