Unanticipated rainfall in the state has left farmers, particularly those in Ajod village near Vadodara, facing significant losses in their potato crops. The untimely downpour has impacted nearly 80 percent of plantings across approximately 300 hectares in Vadodara district, leading to delays in sowing and extensive damage to various crops, including potatoes. Farmers are now seeking government compensation to alleviate their losses, estimated at around 2 crores.
