In response to an incident involving the ISKCON Bridge in Ahmedabad, where non-functional street lights and CCTV systems were discovered, Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is taking proactive steps to enhance citizen safety. The decision involves the installation of 75 CCTV cameras across 10 key flyovers within the city. Prompted by the Municipal Commissioner's directive, this initiative aims to deter criminal activities and ensure the security of motorists. Each flyover pillar will house four cameras. Notably, Vadodara Municipality has already implemented CCTVs at intersections, on roads, and in sensitive areas, further contributing to the city's tranquility. This new project underscores the municipality's dedication to safeguarding its citizens.
