An idol weighing 84 carats and worth 7 lakhs was stolen from the Jain Derasar in Surat’s Piplod area. Based on the complaint, Umra police conducted an investigation and within a few days, the accused was nabbed from Orissa, with the idol. The accused used to work at the temple, which was discovered from the CCTVs installed in the temples.
