A weekend joy ride from Riverfront to Science City in Ahmedabad turned into a brief tragedy last week due to the upcoming Uttarayan festival. The helicopter ride, aimed at providing a leisurely experience for Ahmedabadites during weekends, was halted for two and a half hours when a kite string became entangled in the helicopter's wings. As a precautionary measure, the decision was made to suspend the Joy Ride service on Saturdays and Sundays to avoid any potential incidents during the festive Uttarayan season, where kite flying is prevalent.
