A construction material trader residing in the Vastral area of the city took his own life by shooting himself with a licensed revolver on the eve of Uttarayan. Struggling with a debt of two and a half crore rupees accumulated during the recession since the COVID-19 period and distressed by domestic conflicts with his spouse, the businessman ended his life. The Ramol police have initiated an investigation into the incident and registered a case.
