In response to a 2023 Forest Department notification preventing Santalpur's 735 Agarias from making salt in the wildlife sanctuary, the High Court has ordered a reevaluation. The court has directed that on January 29, farmers with salt from Santalpur should be allowed to continue their salt-making activities.
