To address traffic congestion issues caused by hawkers operating trucks on public roads, the AMC has introduced the 'Street Vendor Plan' aligned with the Street Vending Policy. The plan prohibits hawkers from setting up stalls on busy routes such as SG Highway, CG Road, Ashram Road, Sindhu Bhawan, and University Road. Instead, the AMC will arrange alternative locations near these roads for vendors using lorries. Additionally, the plan enforces a ban within approximately 50 to 100 meters from traffic junctions to streamline urban traffic flow.
