In a move to enhance safety measures for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has announced the installation of 28 seismometers along the route. Eight seismometers will be placed in Maharashtra, covering Mumbai, Thane, Virar, and Boisar, while Gujarat will see 14 seismometers in locations like Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Anand, Vadodara, Mehmedabad and Ahmedabad. These devices will automatically cut power connections and activate emergency brakes in the event of an earthquake, ensuring passenger safety.
