In Surat, the health department conducted a campaign to confiscate banned plastic and single-use plastic under the Plastics Act. Over the last seven days, they checked a total of 17,499 kg at various locations, seizing prohibited single-use plastic. Additionally, an administrative charge of Rs 20,42,300 was collected during the campaign. The efforts align with the guidelines of the Garbage Free City initiative under the Swachh Bharat Mission, which prohibits the use of single-use plastic.
