Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that the trial for the high-speed bullet train between Surat and Bilimora is scheduled to commence in 2026. Providing insights into the budget, Vaishnav highlighted the ongoing track work, construction of a 21 km tunnel, and rapid progress in station development along the Sabarmati to Mumbai route. Additionally, the Railway Minister emphasized the completion of track electrification on 97 percent of the 701 km route in Gujarat, with redevelopment plans for 87 stations, including Surat, Vadodara, and Somnath.
