In a setback to Ahmedabad Police's ongoing efforts to build a positive rapport with the public, corruption has surfaced within the force. ASI Akbarshah Diwan and Police Constable Raju Bhopabhai from Rakhiyal Police Station were caught accepting a bribe. The duo demanded ₹10 lakh for bail in a gambling case, eventually settling for ₹1.35 lakh. Following a complaint, Ahmedabad ACB caught ASI red-handed while attempting to take the bribe, while the constable managed to escape.
