Niranjan Patel, a seven-term MLA from Congress, is set to join BJP. Despite being elected six times from Anand Petlad assembly seat, Patel felt neglected and resigned from Congress, forming a platform for the last assembly elections. Speculations about his BJP affiliation arose since then. BJP has organized a program where Patel, along with numerous NCP, Congress, and AAP members, will formally join after resigning from Congress.
