In response to the Lok Sabha General Election 2024, the Election Commission of India has designated the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime, to oversee legal action against any violations of the Election Model Code of Conduct on social media platforms. Ahmedabad city will have a nodal officer for SMS and social media monitoring. Additionally, a WhatsApp helpline number has been established to report offensive messages, posts, videos, or audio content.
