Launch a Helpline against Police brutality: High Court instructs
In the case of the Ahmedabad airport police brutality incident, the High Court issued significant directives. Important instructions were given to the state government by the HC, regarding the Suo Moto hearing carried out by the HC in the airport case. The State government was instructed to create helpline numbers connected with the Gujarat State Police Complaints Authority so that anyone who wishes to file a complaint against the police or authorities can do so. These helpline numbers will be generated for each district, and at the state level, a board will be formed under the chairmanship of a retired High Court or Supreme Court judge to oversee this initiative.
