An ASI of the Economic Cell of the Gujarat Police has been arrested by the ACB for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 15 lakh to release the partner of a businessman who was arrested in a multi-crore fraud case and to return the businessman's office belongings and diamonds. The ASI, who was on the run after the ACB arrested his brother while accepting Rs 5 lakh of the bribe amount 10 days ago, surrendered at the ACB office on Friday. The ACB produced him in court and obtained a one-day remand.
