In Surat, an FIR has been registered against former VHP leader Devi Prasad Dubey and 10–12 others. They are accused of assaulting and abducting a young Muslim man who was meeting his coworker in Pipalod. It is being alleged that they are both in a relationship. Then, based on the complaints of the youth, the police detained three people, including Deviprasad Dubey.
