Navratri is synonymous with colours and Garba, but also with immense traffic congestion:

During Navratri, traffic rules have been largely ignored, leading to severe traffic congestion in the posh areas of Ahmedabad. Parties, events, and Garba celebrations held in plots, clubs, and farmhouses have resulted in heavy traffic on Sindhubhavan Road. The traffic situation became chaotic around 1 AM, with no traffic police personnel present to manage the situation. The absence of any traffic management created a major traffic jam in the area. None of the traffic rules were enforced due to the absence of any police officers, and more than 2100 traffic personnel will be deployed to manage traffic during the remaining days of Navratri. These issues were reported by our correspondent to the traffic helpline number 1095.
