Corporation to stop releasing bovines on festivalsVadodara Municipal Corporation is considering to stop releasing confined cattle on festival days as a tradition. The corporation had been doing this since long without charging any administrative charges. They used to release cattle on Uttrayan and Janmashtami. In order to curb the menace caused by the animals, they have come up with a proposal of not releasing any cattle during festivals. VMC already has cattle ponds in the city which accommodates 700 to 800 cattle. If there are more bovines than VMC sends them to cattle shelters or ‘panjarpoles’ near the city.
