The Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA) of has successfully ended the water woes of 9 villages near Waghodia and Ajwa by planning a long term water scheme from the Timbi pond and Narmada canal. Till the project is put into place, the VUDA and Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board (GWSSB) is planning to supply water from the Nimeta headworks of GWSSB. The villages of Sayajipura, Ankhol. Bapod, Bakrol and others are going to be provided three million litres of water per day (MLD) for three years from Nimeta as a temporary measure till the water project from Timbi and Narmada is completed. VUDA will be conducting the pipeline work for the project and will also be paying water charges to GWSSB. The chairman of VUDA, Ajay Bhadoo said that the work is expected to get over by this summer and 3.5 cr will be spent on the project.
