10,266 square meter land worth Rs 30.80 crores has been acquired in Vadodara for the bullet train project. The total amount of land to be acquired is 1,89,762 square meter. As per the rules, 80% of the amount has to be paid to 22 landowners which amounts to Rs 30.80 crores, and the rest will be paid after the completion of the project. Manjalpur based Amarkunj society has been paid a sum of 4 crore for an 868 square meter common plot. The areas where the acquisition is going on are Akota, Gorva, Karolia, Channi Maneja, Manjalpur, Vadsar, Vadodara Kasba, and Nagarwada. Previously 1000 farmers had opposed the proposed Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project in September 2018.
