A man has been arrested by the police by raking up a credit card bill of Rs 15,74,481 by the complaint. The complainant, Jayesh Ranchod Umarhadiya, is a resident of Shreeji tenament at Undera and a retired senior production engineer of IOCL. The accused, Bhavesh Verma, pretended to be an employee with SBI Bank and asked him to sign up for a credit card with SBI. He won the complainant’s trust by telling him that the interest in a savings account is less and asked him to put his money in a fixed deposit account. When the complaint was filling up the credit card form, he put in another phone number and then used the credit card to rake up a bill worth Rs. 15,74,481 / -. The complainant registered a case with the cyber crime cell on 27th Feb and the team traced Bhavesh Verma with the help of the electronic trail he had left.
