In the 21st century, Indian Healthcare system has taken multiple initiatives to promote Organ Donation. There are times when organs have to be transported from one hospital to another and across cities. However, in the Indian scenario, jam-packed roads have time and again hindered with the timely arrival of in-transit of organs. Yet, hope is not lost as Healthcare and Police functioning together has always brought in good news for our country. In a recent and a rather commendable incident, a liver and a kidney were transported from Vadodara’s Tricolour Hospital to Ahmedabad in under 1.5 hours. The Ahmedabad-Vadodara route is a busy stretch of 112 km, and on a normal day, it would take about 2.5 hours to reach the city, considering the traffic.
