Picking pockets, blackmailing or kidnapping are synonymous to the various crafts of stealing from someone. Ironically, honey-trapping, an investigative practice that was used by spies, has now become a leading technique of embezzling money from innocents. A 63-year-old man, going to an interview for the job of a lift man at the Bata Showroom was approached by a girl who persuaded him to financially help her. The man agreed to help her and drove to Vasna-Bhayali road on his 2-wheeler, where a police van pulled them over and claimed that the man was eve-teasing the girl. One of the policemen posed as PSI Chudasama and tricked the man into giving them Rs. 20,000. The fake policemen threatened the 63 year old to arrange Rs. 1,00,000 or they would file a false case against him for raping the girl.
