A Pollution under Control (PUC) certificate is a must if you own any kind of vehicle. The Vadodara Traffic Police PUC Department conducted a special checking of 2-wheeler, auto-rickshaws and LMVs to audit if the vehicles possessed a valid PUC certificate. This resulted in 915 polluting vehicles paying fines that totaled to Rs. 2.87 lakhs. This drive was run in different parts of the city. More so, the increasing rate at which pollution is spreading across the country is rather scaring, and to control that, a special team from the Pollution Control Department was appointed. The team carried out a special drive in the industrial areas of the city and gave notices to factories that were responsible in spreading or leaking more than the permitted amount of chemicals and smoke in the area.
