Under the central government’s AMRUT scheme, the VMC has started work on the Sindhrot based water supply project. This water supply project was to cater to the drinking water needs of Gorwa, Gorwa, Undera, Koyli, Ankodiya, Khanpur, Sherkhi, Sevasi, Mahapura, Gokalpura, Bhaili, Bil and other villages. However, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has paused work on the proposal after the opposition party, Congress, raised objections about the delayed work of the project along with stating that areas near other water supply schemes may also raise similar demands. The standing committee had cleared the proposal for the Mahi-based Sindhrot water supply project in February. It was supposed to provide 20 million litres water per day (MLD) to VUDA areas lying in the western part.
